Anthony "Tony" Wood

Anthony “Tony” Wood, age 63, of Columbia, TN, passed away on July 14, 2025. He was born in Fort Campbell, KY, to Benedette and Clarence Wood and spent his formative years in Monroe, MI. It was there where he met the love of his life, Deborah “Debbie” Dusseau. The two were married on May 28, 1983, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned 34 years.

Tony retired from General Motors after more than 25 years of dedicated service. A quiet and spiritual man, he was true to his faith through the very end. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who personally valued a hard work ethic, Christian faith, and calm compassion for others. He was known as a deep thinker, music lover, and an avid sportsman. He would frequently say, “I could have gone pro,” when referring to his bowling game.

He is survived by his children, Amber (Jonathan) Nichols, Sarah (Nathan) Throneberry, and Kyle Wood; his grandchildren, Natalie, Lily, Oliver, Gabriella, Amelia, and Alexander; his father, Clarence “Herman” Wood; and his siblings, Todd Wood and Traci Sweat.

Tony was preceded in death by his wife Debbie Wood, and his mother, Benedette “Bene” Wood.

A memorial service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 800 Crescent Centre Dr., Suite 430, Franklin, TN.
