Brian Lee Chivers

March 15, 1957 — April 21, 2024

Thompsons Station, Tennessee

Brian Lee Chivers, 67, passed away on April 21, 2024, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his journey he showed incredible strength; he is our superhero.

Brian was born on March 15, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Tex and Joan Chivers. He grew up in Hazel Park, Michigan, and always had stories to share about his childhood.

After high school and some college he got a job at General Motors. His job led him to Thompsons Station, TN where he called home and raised his 2 children. He was a very dedicated, hard worker for General Motors for over 39 years. He loved his job and talked about it often.

He enjoyed traveling, snorkeling, animals, and taking care of his pool. If you knew him, he probably mentioned his pool a time or two. Sundays at the pool with his friends and family were his favorite.

While we lost our beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him, as he was a rock to many. There was so much more to him than just dad- he was also an amazing Paw paws, Fiancé, brother, coworker, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tex and Joan Chivers, as well as his brother Phillip. He is survived by his children, Jason Chivers and Lindsey (Mondale) Fitzpatrick; the mother of his children, Tina Gruhn; grandson, Pena Fitzpatrick; fiancé, Betty Ann Montouri, and sister Kay (Tom)  Duffy; and his nephews and nieces, Bill, Jennifer, Ryan, Chelsea, and Tina.

Though Brian may no longer be with us, his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered and forever cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and admired by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

We will have a celebration of life for Brian in Spring Hill, TN. Details to follow.

We will also have a Celebration of life on June 2nd at Addison Oaks park in Leonard, Michigan for his Michigan family and friends.
