Catherine "Cap" Elizabeth Emerson

Catherine “Cap” Elizabeth Emerson, age 78 of Brentwood, TN passed away June 27, 2026. She was born in Rockford, IL to the late Levis & Nina Brooks. She loved the Lord, loved her family and loved serving others in many different ways. Cap worked for GraceWorks for over ten years before retiring. She was a dedicated volunteer at Room in the Inn for over twenty years. She loved to cook and enjoyed reading cookbooks. Cap also had a love for nature. She enjoyed spending time in her backyard watching the birds and tending to her plants and herb garden. Cap also loved to decorate her house for every season, crochet, and prepare meals for her loved ones and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Cap is preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Brooks. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Al” Emerson of Brentwood, TN; daughters, Stacey Emerson of Brentwood, TN and Jenny (Scott) Hogan of Hendersonville, TN; granddaughters, LeighAnn Hogan, Hannah (Jonah) Augustine and Paige Hogan; brother, Thomas “Tom” (Dodee) Brooks of Aurora, IL and many other loving family members and friends.
