Catherine L Grice

Catherine L Grice (Kitty) Age 98 went to Heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 12, 2024. Catherine was born in Nashville, TN on May 31, 1926. She was the daughter of Late Claude C Locke Sr. and Sally Anderson Locke. She was a member of the Woodmont Baptist Church. Catherine started working for South Central Bell (Bellsouth) at the age of eighteen as a Long-Distance Operator. She was eventually promoted to a supervisory position over the Operator Section. Catherine grew in knowledge throughout the years and held a supervisory position for the office. She retired from Bellsouth with thirty-nine years of service. She Loved her Job! She has officially been RETIRED longer than she worked!

Catherine (Aunt Kitty) to many of her family members, absolutely Loved the weekly family gatherings/dinners at the farm. She loved the old-fashioned meat and vegetable meals and grandaddy’s home-made chicken-n-dumplings! She was always taking pictures; so many that she had to purchase lots of cameras throughout the years. She also enjoyed the Locke Family Reunions, sharing stories and photos with the family and talking about Yesteryear. 

 Catherine is preceded in death by her husband John C Grice, Sr; son’s: John C Grice, Jr and Charles C Grice; grandson John C Grice III; sisters: Ruby Loucks, Maxine Houle & Peggy Cooper; brothers: Claude Locke Jr, Charlie Locke and Franklin D Locke. 

 Survivors include brother, Bobby D Locke, Sr. and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 Catherine will be remembered for her beautiful countenance, kindness, generosity and love. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 15, 2024 with visitation 2 hours prior of service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Joe Copolo will officiate. The burial will immediately follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Prayer. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
