Chase Robert Hartung, age 16, of Brentwood, Tennessee, passed away on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 26, 2010, in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of 8, Chase moved with his family to Tennessee, where he made new friends and continued to build a life full of meaningful memories.
Chase courageously and gallantly fought a four-year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, facing his illness with incredible strength, quiet courage, and an unwavering will to live.
Chase loved sports, especially football, and some of his fondest memories were playing for the Brentwood Blaze. He found his greatest joy in being with his family. He loved watching movies with his sister Addy, trading Pokémon cards with Reese, and bringing happiness to his younger brother Crosley, often surprising him with toys just to see him smile. He found joy in the simple things, including Skyline Chili, Star Wars, camping, and boating. Chase had a playful spirit and a quick wit, and he had a special way of making even the simplest moments feel lighter.
Chase is preceded in death by his cousin, Julia Hartung. He is deeply missed by his parents, Justin and Cindy Hartung; his siblings, Addy, Reese, and Crosley Hartung; his paternal grandparents, Mike and Teri Hartung; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Colleen Troehler; his dog, Lily; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in our faith, knowing that Chase is now at peace, fully healed, and in heaven. We hold on to the hope that we will see him again.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Road, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the church.
