Curtis Preston Pease, 83, of Franklin, TN passed peacefully at home on August 10, 2026. Curt was born and raised in La Porte, Indiana where his family were amongst some of the earliest settlers in the area.

Curt is preceded in death by his father and mother, Alfred and Willo Pease, and his sister Nadine Carle. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judith Pease, son Asa Pease (Jennifer), daughter Merin Smith (Scott), son Preston Pease (Kimberly), five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

After earning his bachelor’s degree at Rose Polytechnic Institute in Terre Haute, Indiana, Curt had a career as a chemical engineer for Stauffer Chemical Company/Rhone-Poulenc. His work started in Illinois with stops in Louisiana, Connecticut, and Michigan before settling in Franklin, Tennessee for the last 45 years.

Curt had fond memories of high adventure Boy Scout trips, Franklin High School and UTM football games, art shows, and grandchildren’s performances and games. As a lifetime Chicago Cubs fan, he was happy to live long enough to see them win the World Series.

Everyone has been very important in his life for growth, support, and love. He has helped many through the steps over the last 44 years. He would always say, “Follow the traditions, they work if you work them.”
