David Bruce Dodd, age 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to Samuel Allen Dodd and the late Mary Helen Drake Dodd.
Bruce graduated from DuPont High School in 1980 and later attended Nashville Tech, where he trained as a “four-color stripper” in the printing industry. He worked in this role for two decades, contributing to the production of numerous iconic album and CD covers for many musicians and bands.
Following his printing career, he apprenticed as a butcher with Kroger in Green Hills, where he became well known for the rapport he built with his many loyal customers.
Bruce found great joy in music, especially The Beatles, and took pride in his work. A devoted pet lover, he cared for many cats and dogs throughout his life. He was also an enthusiastic fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and Tennessee Titans.
Although Bruce faced many health challenges throughout his life, he never lost his love of laughter, his devotion to family, and, most importantly, his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
In addition to his mother, Bruce was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nancy Evelyn Frazier Dodd.
Those left to cherish Bruce’s memory are his father, Samuel “Sam” Allen Dodd; brother, Kerry Dodd (Martha); stepsister, Tracy Payne (Gregg); and nieces, Jenna Dodd Weber (Brody) and Grace Payne.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM Friday, September 5, 2025, at Burwood Cemetery.
The care of David Bruce Dodd and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
