Donald Joseph Estok, 83, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, in Franklin, Tennessee.

Don was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1943, to Stephen and Nellie Estok.

After graduating from Hempfield Area Senior High School, Don earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Later in life, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Jacksonville State University. His career in accounting, finance, and business operations brought him to Alabama in the early 1970s. Soon afterward, he met Sally Adams, and they married on February 9, 1974, in Birmingham. Their life together took them from Alabama to New Jersey, where they welcomed two sons, before returning to their longtime home in Anniston, Alabama. Don and Sally shared nearly 48 years of marriage until her passing in September 2021.

Don proudly served in the United States Army in the years following his graduation from Saint Vincent College, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Throughout his life, he also gave his time to organizations important to him, including the Boy Scouts of America and Anniston First United Methodist Church.

Often quiet and reserved, Don had a wonderfully understated sense of humor and a presence that those who knew him will remember fondly. He enjoyed reading and sports and held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Marley and Carson, who passed years before him. Above all, Don loved his family deeply and supported them faithfully throughout his life.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Nellie Estok, and his wife, Sally Estok.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Estok of Huntsville, Alabama, and Joe Estok and his wife, Katie, of Nolensville, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Maddy and Joey Estok of Nolensville, Tennessee.

In lieu of a formal service, Don’s immediate family will gather privately to honor his life. Those wishing to remember Don may make a memorial contribution to an organization of their choice.

Don’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who cared for and supported him throughout 2026, especially the teams at American House of Mill Creek, NHC Place Cool Springs, AccentCare Home Health, and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
