Dorinda White Gibson, age 80, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Franklin, Kentucky. Born in Columbia, Tennessee, on January 11, 1946, to the late William Mitchell White and Mary Dalton White, Dorinda built a life rooted in community, faith, and a deep love for food and fellowship. She graduated from Belmont University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, launching a vibrant career dedicated to home economics and culinary arts. In the 1970s, Dorinda shared her passion for cooking with television audiences as the host of her own show, Coffee with Dorinda. Her talent and community contributions led to her appointment to the Dairy Board and her recognition as one of the "Outstanding Young Women of America" in 1975. She served as the Home Economist for Sunflower Food Store and later retired from W.M. White Inc. Above all, Dorinda was a devoted servant of her faith, staying deeply active in her church throughout her life. She found her greatest joy in caring for others, sharing meals, and creating a warm, welcoming home. Dorinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Preston Dennis Gibson. She is survived by her loving son, William Dalton (Minnie) Gibson. A celebration of Dorinda’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, Tennessee. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Central Time, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM Central Time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorinda’s honor to Friends of Radnor Lake.
