Dr. Hester

Dr. Ray Willis Hester, age 83 passed away November 3, 2020 and Jean Sallee Hester, age 83 passed away November 6, 2020. Dr. Hester and his wife of 62 years Jean, were both of Brentwood, TN. Dr. Hester graduated from Vanderbilt University with his M.D. and a specialty in Neurosurgery. He went on to practice in the Nashville area throughout his career as a neurosurgeon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he received the Bronze Star for his service. Jean devoted herself to her family and her spiritual family which lead her to become a bible teacher and mentor for 60 years with Brentwood Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Franklin. They are survived by their children, Kathy (Lance) Baugher, Doug Hester and Dan Hester; grandchildren, Will & Luke Baugher and Harrison, Connor & Makayla Hester; three great-grandchildren. Dr. Hester is survived by his siblings, Nancy Cobb, Gary Hester and Jerry Hester. Jean is survived by her sister, Kathryn Sallee. A private Celebration of Life service will be held for them at Brentwood Baptist Church. They will be interred together at Williamson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in their memory to the TN Baptist Childrens Home in Brentwood, TN.
