Wadley
Feb 17, 1940 — Sep 29, 2026
Arrington, TN
Edward Lee Wadley died September 29, 2026, at the age of 86, in his home in Arrington, Tennessee. Ed was born on February 17, 1940, to Benjamin and Wilma (Basham) Wadley in New Madrid, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Fredia (Stovall) and daughter Allison Wadley; his siblings John Edwards of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Cheryl Cambell of Munford, Tennessee, Steve Wadley of St. Louis, Missouri, Mark Wadley of Ontario, Canada, Darla Stipanovich of Ontario, Canada, and Shauna Waeltermann of New Port News, Virginia. He was preceded in death by parents Virgil and Wilma Edwards and Benjamin and Dorothy Wadley, and sibs Charles Wadley and Alan Edwards, all of Missouri.
Ed graduated from high school in Caruthersville, Missouri in 1958, attended School of the Ozarks junior college in Point Lookout, Missouri., Memphis State University, and graduated with a BS from Middle Tennessee State University in 1974. He served in the Navy as a corpsman and was in the U.S Navy Recruit Training Center Drum and Bugle Corps while stationed in San Diego, California. Ed was a medical technologist at the John Gaston Emergency Room in Memphis and later was an insurance agent in Chattanooga and Nashville, Tennessee.
Ed’s friends and family will always remember two things about him. First his love for all kinds of music with his chosen instrument being a trumpet in high school and the Navy. He was a member of barbershop choruses and quartets in Chattanooga, Nashville and Easton, Maryland. The second thing remembered about Ed is the hundreds of beautiful roses he grew wherever he lived.
Ed was a man of few words and let his actions show his strong support for his family, friends, and Barbershop choruses.
