Faith Phillips Winston

Faith Phillips Winston, 87, a resident of Cookeville, TN, passed away on May 24, 2024, in Spring Hill, TN.  She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, to the late Windom and Jewell Phillips. She graduated from Baton Rouge HS and La. Tech University earning Bachelor and Master of Music Education degrees. She met the love of her life, Edmund Winston, while both were attending LSU. They were married for 68 years. She encouraged and supported him throughout his musical career while she taught music to students from elementary through high school over 30-years. Throughout her life, Faith enjoyed singing and playing piano/organ in various churches. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and taking road trips with her husband. Her sweet and fun-loving personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Faith is preceded in death by her husband Edmund W. Winston, and sister Patricia Hamberlin. She is survived by her only son Edmund W. Winston, III (Gail), grandchildren Travis Winston (Jennifer), Sydnee Martin (Mitchell), and Tyler Winston (Katie), and by her brothers Phil and Farley Phillips.  The family would like to thank all the staff in Memory Care at The Goldton at Spring Hill for the kindness and care shown to Faith during her time there.
