Frances Josephine Damer, affectionately known as “Fran,” passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in Franklin, Tennessee. She was born on March 19, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, a city that shaped her warm spirit and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Frances lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep love for her family. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph Lettieri and Palma Sicari of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Brooklyn, she was surrounded by the vibrant energy and diverse culture of her hometown. In adulthood, Frances carried these roots with her, sharing her gifts with everyone she encountered throughout her life.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband, David Damer, whose memory she treasured deeply throughout her years. Together, they built a loving home and life filled with cherished memories and lasting bonds. Frances was a source of encouragement and strength within her family, always ready to lend a listening ear or a comforting word.
Frances is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Flynn, who was the pride and joy of her life. The bond they shared was evident in every story Frances recounted, every holiday spent together, and every obstacle overcome side by side. Her devotion as a mother extended into her role as a grandmother; she took great delight in the lives of her grandson, Patrick Flynn, and granddaughter, Kate Flynn. To them, she was not only a grandmother, but an example of perseverance and unconditional love.
She also leaves behind her dear sister, Mary Ann Whipple, with whom she shared a lifelong connection that sustained them through life’s triumphs and challenges. She also cared very much for her brother-in law, Walter. She enjoyed his sense of humor. Frances’s love and wisdom touched all her family, and her absence will be deeply felt by those who knew her best.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. Philip Catholic Church, 113 2nd Ave S, Franklin, TN 37064. A memorial service in celebration of Frances’ life will be held at the same location on July 24, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Frances Josephine Damer’s legacy of compassion and steadfast love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we gather to remember and honor her remarkable life, may we find comfort in knowing that her gentle spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones
