Franklin Dee Bracey

Franklin Dee Bracey, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at NHC Cool Springs. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, and longtime Franklin resident, he was the son of the late Charles Richard Bracey and the late Lela Maude Felts Bracey, being the 10th of 13 children. He spent his career in the printing industry, retiring from the former Baird-Ward Printing Company. He enjoyed playing golf. He was a lover of good food and was an excellent cook. He thoroughly enjoyed a good cigar and a serious poker game. He loved working in the yard and tending to a small garden. Most of all he was a family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a long-time member of Brentwood United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Bracey, and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Stone Bracey; son, Franklin Dee (Beth) Bracey, III; daughter, Denee’ Bracey (Jeff) Davis; stepdaughter, Susan Crockett (Doug) Blackburn; stepson, Robert Creighton (Susan) Crockett; sisters, Frances Bracey Pilkington and Patricia Bracey Dauscha; grandchildren, Benjamin Bracey (Mary Elizabeth) Davis, Harrison Lynn(Lesley) Davis, Hailey Elizabeth Bracey, Emma Kathryn Bracey, step grandchildren, Allie-Anne (Britt) Haney, Darby (Drew) Sinclair, and Luke Creighton (Mercer) Crockett; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Victoria and Emmalynn Franklin Davis, step great grandchildren, Benjamin Sinclair, and Charlie-Gray Haney; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A memorial gathering will take place from 11 AM until 12 Noon on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Brentwood United Methodist Church. An inurnment will follow at the church Columbarium. Members of the Wesley Forum Sunday School class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Volunteer Services, 2018 Clinch Ave. Knoxville, TN 37916; in furtherance of Childhood Leukemia Research.
