Gary Edward Bruce passed away on October 1, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Marietta, Georgia, and lived most of his life in Cherokee County before moving closer to his daughter in Tennessee a few years ago. Gary was a man who found joy in simple, familiar pleasures. The lake was his favorite place — whether he was fishing, riding in the boat, or simply being near the water, it brought him peace. He loved attending air shows, taking rides on his motorcycle, and filling sketchbooks with doodles and drawings. He was a loyal Waffle House regular, always kept his hair neatly combed, and cared deeply for the neighbors who became part of his daily life. These everyday habits and passions reflected the heart of who he was.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Crowley, and her husband, Roger Crowley; his brothers, Barry Bruce and his wife, Lucille; Mike Bruce and his wife, Debbie; and Steve Bruce and his wife, Renae; his sisters, Deborah Birdsong and her husband, Bobby; and Patricia Vaughn and her husband, Greg. He is also survived by his sister‑in‑law, Brenda Bruce; five grandchildren; two great‑grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hulett Bruce; his mother, Evelyn Bruce; and his twin brother, Larry Bruce. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him, and may he be remembered for the simple joys that shaped his life and the warmth he shared with those around him.

A celebration of his life will be held in the coming months, giving those who loved him a chance to come together and remember him.
