Grant Walter Burke

Grant Walter Burke, age 30 of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Grant was a special boy/man who touched every soul he came in contact with. Grant had a unique gift, in that he never met a stranger and made everyone close to him feel valued, cherished and loved. Grant had the best attitude and truly believed there was nothing he couldn’t achieve, and proudly completed every goal he set his mind to. He was a proud graduate from Independence High School, followed by enrollment and completion of the Haslam school of Business at the University of Tennessee. It was during this chapter of his life that he made lifelong friends that he cherished like brothers, who remained steadfast at his side throughout his life. Grant never encountered an adventure he wasn’t ready for and lived his life to the fullest. Perhaps Grant’s attributes, was his love and dedication he had for family. Grant loved his Mama and every member of his family. Grant loved his Dad —they had a special bond. His dad taught him about God, Jesus, and many other life lessons.

Most importantly, he loved his twin brother, Shane with every cell in his body. They weren’t simply brothers, they were best friends whose bond extends all imaginable boundaries and a loyalty most of us can only dream of. When Grant crosses your mind, remember him for his love of life and adventure, his passion for the game of golf, NASCAR and the Tennessee Volunteers!

This wouldn’t be complete without paying tribute to our beautiful Cami. Cami was the love of Grant’s life and his partner in all things. She has been a member of our family for such a very long time, and Grant was set to propose within the coming weeks, and we were all so very excited. Cami, may you always know how very much you are loved. We could not have wished for a more perfect soul for Grant, and we will cherish you for the remainder of our days.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Paul Poteete, Jr. & Ruth Ann Poteete, Hoyte & Geraldine Crowell and Walter & Irene Burke; his great-uncle, Milton Crowell.

Grant is survived by his beloved mother, April “Ma” Burke of Franklin, TN; father, Mark (Stephanie) Burke of the Bethesda Community; twin brother, Shane Burke of Franklin, TN; step-sister, Sidney (Cody) Davenport of Spring Hill, TN; grandparents, Donald & Nancy Burke of Franklin, TN and Johnny Mack & Grace Poteete of Franklin, TN; aunts & uncles, Josh (Lisa) Poteete, Cayla (Bryan) Hayeslip, Tracy (Andy) Hall and Coley (Bart) Glasgow; his partner of six years, Cami Cooke of Orlando, FL; twin cousins, Kayla & Leslie; cousins, Addie, Ethan, Latham (Shannon) Poteete, McKenzie (Nate) Fulkerson and Mack Poteete; beloved golden retriever, Hank and a host of many loving family members and friends.

A visitation with the family will be 5-8PM Saturday, September 13, 2025 and one hour prior to the funeral service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mack Poteete, Josh Poteete, Mack Poteete, Kenny Hickman, Brian Martin, Cody Davenport, Gianni Scramuzza, Davis Connor, and Mike Treadway. Chris Thompson and Billy Barnhill will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Haslam College of Business or Victory Junction, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
