Greg Delmas May

Gregory Delmas May, age 62 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away March 21, 2024. Greg was born in Cambridge, MA on January 15, 1962 to Delmas and Judith Ann (Howard) May. The May family relocated to Tennessee in the early 1970s and Greg graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1979. Later he attended Volunteer State University. In 1993 he married Penny Ann Wright of Franklin, KY and they raised three wonderful children in the mid-Tennessee area, Zachary, Katherine, and Jake. At the time of his death, Greg was employed by St. Thomas Hospital where he was a source of light to thousands of suffering patients. Greg had a great sense of humor and was very witty, often bringing laughter to any situation. He was an avid collector, enjoyed cars (especially his Mustang) but was most content spending his time with his family. The phone calls, text messages, cards and visits Greg received during the final months of his life were a tremendous source of joy. He revelled in talking to old friends about youthful shenanigans.

Greg is survived by his wife, Penny, sons, Zachary and Jake, mother, Judy, and Sister Paula Wetherill, along with five nieces and nephews whose lives he touched. Greg is preceded in death by his daughter Katherine Elizabeth, who passed away only two years prior, and his father Delmas.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 30^th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Ave., Franklin, TN. A graveside service will be held later the same day at 4 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Schley Road, Adairville, KY where he will be laid to rest next to his daughter, Katherine.  Trent Maupin of Ashland City will officiate the service. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Greg’s caregivers. They request that expressions of sympathy be made in Greg’s name to the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. You will be missed by many, Greg.
