Harold Skelton, 94, of Greeley (formally of Franklin, Tennessee), passed away on November 18, 2025, in Greeley. He was born on August 7, 1931, in Wayne County, Tennessee, to Herman Skelton and Ada Pope. Harold proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Harold was a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything. With determination and skill, he even built his own home with his own hands. He was an avid golfer and treasured the time he spent on Tennessee golf courses with his friends. Together with his beloved wife, Harold created a beautiful home and an immaculate garden where they raised vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables.
Family was the center of Harold’s life. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy. He never missed a recital, Christmas party, trip, or any opportunity to be present for those he loved—no matter the distance. Harold cherished family vacations to Florida, Disneyland, and Hilton Head Island, and he especially enjoyed spending time in the mountains.
Harold also found great fulfillment in sharing his faith and his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, with others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Iris Skelton; his children, Harold Skelton (Robyn Ryan) and Lori (George) Valdez; grandchildren, Nicole Valdez, Alix (Andrew) Keadle, and Grace Valdez; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Blair; and his sister, Lou Ann Porter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Iva Burklin.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM Friday, February 27, 2026 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
