James Frank Ogilvie, age 84, passed away on July 9, 2024. A native of Williamson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Walter William and Kathleen Smith Ogilvie. Jim attended College Grove Schools, Maryville College, and earned his degree at Middle Tennessee State University. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed a long career as a Certified Public Accountant in his own private practice. Over his lifetime he was a member of both the Presbyterian and Methodist churches. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Katherine Ogilvie Musgrave; brothers: Bill and Walter Ogilvie. Jim is survived by his wife: Barbara “Jeanie” Ogilvie, as well as her children and grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He and Jeanie loved traveling and exploring new places. Whether it was small towns or big cities, they saw so many of God’s amazing and beautiful creations in the mountains, coasts, deserts, and beaches. Jim especially enjoyed family gatherings and special events, always bringing his happy and joyful spirit to whatever the occasion happened to be. To the grandchildren he was “Poppy”. He was truly loved and will be truly missed. A private service will be conducted at Ogilvie Cemetery.
