Jimmie Dee Bennett, III, age 75 of Franklin, TN passed into the presence of the Lord on August 23, 2026. A lifelong resident of Williamson County, he was a member of the 1969 graduating class of Franklin High School. Affectionally known as “Pop,” Jimmie dearly loved his family and was a big fan of Elvis Presley, model trains and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Jimmie worked in real estate, was an auctioneer with Ben Gary’s Auction Barn, and retired from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department after 20 years of service.
Born on September 24, 1950, to Jimmie Dee Bennett, Jr. and Mattie Ruth Beasley Bennett, Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife Marsha Bennett; daughters Jennifer Bennett, Rebecca (Shannon) Heithcock and Sara (Jon Ham) Bennett-Ham; grandchildren Shelby (Ian) Siddall, Katie, Lauren and William Heithcock and Angeleena and Bennett Gabriel Ham; great-grandchildren Bentley Byrd and Jackson, Stetson and Jameson Siddall and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Interment in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Jewell, Shannon Heithcock, Jon Ham, Jackie Bennett, Danny Bennett, Mike Bentley, Bill Beasley and George Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Beasley, Eddie Clark, Ian Siddall, Gary Beasley, David Bentley, Tim Bennett, John Rainey, Randy Lane, Dwight Davis and David Potts. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 615 794-2289 williamsonmemorial.com
