Jimmy Cartwright, born on January 17, 1943, in Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his beloved hometown on March 5, 2026. He was a devoted family man, a skilled electrician, and a cherished member of his community.

Throughout his life, Jimmy was known for his unwavering dedication to his work as an electrician. His craftsmanship and keen attention to detail earned him respect among his peers and gratitude from those he served. Beyond his professional endeavors, he had a passion for music, particularly for playing the banjo and listening to bluegrass, which brought him immense joy.

Jimmy was a spirited fan of University of Tennessee Football, often cheering for his team with great enthusiasm. He found leisure in the simple pleasures of life, including playing cards, tending to his garden, and observing the wildlife that frequented his surroundings.

He is survived by his children: Jimmy "Bubba" (Mary) Cartwright Jr., Andy (Lori) Cartwright, and Cathy Cartwright. His legacy continues through his granddaughters Leah and Libby Cartwright, Carrie Nicole (Patrick Henry) Cartwright Olsen, Christie Michelle (Charlie) Cartwright Oliphant, and Mary Pierce, alongside his grandson Justin Casey and granddaughter Ilizah Russell.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith Ann Cartwright; his parents, William and Elizabeth Cartwright; and his siblings: Sam and Harold Cartwright, Katherine Cartwright, and Mary Lou Furlow, as well as Rosalie Cartwright. He also mourned the loss of his grandson John Casey.
