John Charles “Chip” Lamphere Jr. passed away in Franklin, Tennessee, on July 4, 2026, at the age of 57. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend whose courage and dedication shaped the lives of countless people. Chip’s life exemplified leadership, passion, and a deep commitment to service.
Chip was born on May 31, 1969 and raised in Chester, New Hampshire. He attended high school at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH where he was a member of the 1985 and 1986 Division 1 State Championship football teams.
He went on to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1992, where he distinguished himself and built a foundation of integrity and honor. Chip proudly served his country as an Airborne Ranger qualified Infantry Officer in the United States Army, demonstrating courage and tenacity in every aspect of his military service.
Following his service, Chip established a successful career in the Construction and Real Estate Industry. Over the course of his life, he built more than 100 custom homes and completed nearly 2,000 commercial projects across the United States. His work stands as a testament to his diligence and craftsmanship, shaping communities and exemplifying his relentless work ethic.
In his free time, Chip found joy and fulfillment in hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating. He was also an endurance athlete who completed multiple marathons and triathlons, culminating in the achievement of a full Ironman. He spent his life leading by example and proving that no challenge was too great.
Chip’s legacy further lives on in the hearts of his family. He is survived by his devoted parents, John Charles Lamphere Sr. and Rhonda Lamphere of Chester, NH; his cherished daughters, Emily (Ryan) Heinz of San Diego, CA and Rachel Lamphere of Hanford, CA; his loving brother, Kevin (Kristine) Lamphere of Hooksett, NH; and his girlfriend Jody Nash of Franklin, TN. Each one carries forward the many lessons, memories, and values Chip shared throughout his life.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Chip are invited to pay their respects at his visitation, which will be held at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064, on July 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A service will also be held in New Hampshire on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. at Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH.
John Charles “Chip” Lamphere Jr. will be fondly remembered with love, honor, and respect. He leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership, and an enduring commitment to excellence. Be thou at peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Reboot Recovery in Chip's memory.
