John Shelton

April 29, 1972 — September 19, 2018

John Nichols Shelton, age 46, passed away 2018 at his home in Franklin, Tennessee. Nick was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he earned the title of OVC golf player of the year in 1995 before attending University of Memphis College of Law. Prior to his death, Nick practiced law in Nashville, Tennessee. Preceded in death by grandparents, Jay and Mae Shelton and L.B. "Pop" and Lib Jennings. Survived by: daughters, Lily and Claudia Shelton; their mother, Amy Sewell Shelton; his parents, Jim and Lynda Shelton all of Franklin, TN; brother, Jay (Cathy) Shelton; sisters, Marcy Shelton (Ed) Schell and Suzy (Harvey) Murff; four nieces, seven nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Franklin First United Methodist Church Historic Sanctuary, 148 5th Avenue South, Franklin, TN 37064. Dr. Bryan Brooks officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon prior to the service. Interment will take place at 3:00PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, 4758 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma, TN 37388. Active pallbearers will be David Hill, Mike Johnson, John McCord, James McCord, Jay Shelton, Craig Sewell and Blake Watt.
