Joy Richards

Joy Richards, age 82, passed away May 9,2023 at her home in Franklin, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Alberta Lyle from Memphis. Joy is survived by her son David (Debbie) Richards, her daughter Haley (Tony II) Reasons and two granddaughters Lyla and Jolie Reasons.

Joy attended Hutchison High School, was a member of the National High School Poetry Association and Delta Beta Sigma. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Mount Vernon College and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama. She was a proud member of Chi Omega

Many people remember Joy as” The Joy of Needlepoint” both locally and in her travel to horse shows.

Joy enjoyed simple pleasures: visits from the grandkids, watching wildlife in the yard with her dog Angel, reading, doing puzzles and stitching. But it was her daily devotion to the scriptures that brought her much comfort and peace.

She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Joy’s life is being planned for late summer or early fall.
