Lyle James Davis Jr, 78, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021.

He was born January 22, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA to Lyle and Roxie Davis. The family settled in Tulsa, OK. Lyle graduated from Will Rogers High School; Tulsa OK. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Master of Teaching in Education and worked as a special education teacher and a high school principal.

Lyle proudly served his country in both the Navy and the Army Reserves. He attained the rank of Sergeant Major after 30 years of service.

Lyle spent most of his civilian career in the janitorial, paper industry working in Kansas City for National Labs, Wayne Paper, Nationwide Papers, and Amsan.

Lyle loved his family and friends forming a special bond with his buddies at Papa's Coffee in Liberty, MO after his retirement. He enjoyed University of Kansas basketball, KC Chiefs, riding his Harley, classic cars and trucks, old movies with John Wayne & Clint Eastwood, the occasional Coney Islander hot dog or a drive in the Tennessee countryside. He enjoyed living in his adopted hometown of Franklin, TN.

Thank you to Alive Hospice, Nashville for their wonderful care during Lyle's seven weeks in hospice.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jackie Clayton Davis, his children Corey Teasdale (Tom), Matthew Davis (Kimberly), Jonathan Davis, Mattie Davis of the home, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, his brother, Richard Davis (Marilyn) Tulsa, OK, his sister, Vicky Pilon (Chris), Simsbury, CT, his beloved aunt, Charlotte Brown, Tulsa, OK and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held in Liberty, MO in June.
