Mamie Wilson McArthur Sanders

August 20, 1940 — June 3, 2025

Thompsons Station, Tennessee

Mamie Louise Wilson McArthur Sanders, 84, beloved wife of recently deceased Brent M Sanders, cherished mother of Tommy McArthur, Christi Smith and Tiffany Richmond went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2025.

Mamie grew up in the Clovercroft Community on Wilson Pike, named after her family, that built the road. Her upbringing among relatives instilled a love for family and community, shaping her life's actions. Early on, Mamie learned from her family that serving and helping others is the greatest act of love.

Mamie graduated from Franklin High School in 1958, participating in numerous activities. She was a member of the Beta Club, Secretary of her Junior Class, FHA Member, Ladies Rebelettes Basketball Team player with a freshman varsity spot, and Barn Warming Queen. During school, Mamie easily connected with people and made cherished friendships.

Music and art were significant aspects of her life. Her enthusiasm for playing the piano and creating and appreciating beautiful music was profound. She possessed a natural talent for interior decorating and envisioning ideal spaces or renovations. This, combined with her dedication to community, led her to pursue a career in real estate.

Mamie’s real estate career began in 1977, when she joined her cousins at Wilson Realty Company. As one of the pioneering women realtors, she made a name for herself with her signature pink branding. In her first year in real estate, she achieved sales amounting to one million dollars, which was a significant accomplishment given the pricing in the real estate market at that time.

Mamie served her community with her involvement in numerous community events and serving on numerous professional boards, positively impacting the community throughout her life and career.

Mamie became Co-Owner and Broker of McArthur-Sanders Real Estate which was established in 1980 when Mamie became partners with Brent in business and then marriage in 1987. Together they were known as the Real Estate Guru power couple.

Her commitment to mentoring agents at McArthur-Sanders and encouraging real estate careers was evident. Mamie measured success by the relationships built and her support for others, not by sales.

She was a dedicated member of Heritage Church of Christ, and her faith was central to her life. She always ensured friends, family, and customers felt welcomed and loved at her table as was evident by the many events and parties she hosted.

Mamie valued her community, career, and friends, but her family was her greatest love. Her devotion to her husband Brent, her children, and grandchildren brought her joy and a radiant smile that will always be remembered along with the love and dedication she gave her family.

Preceded in death by her loving husband and business partner who passed away April 18, 2025, six weeks prior or her death; parents, Joseph Duncan and Christine Skidmore Wilson, and grandson Robert Irwin McArthur.

Survived by: son, Tommy (Vicki) McArthur; daughters, Christi (Kelly) Smith and Tiffany (Travis) Richmond; brother, Charles (Cheryl) Wilson; grandchildren, Casey (Hannah) Smithson, Libby (Adam) Warren and Lauren Richmond; great grandchild, Tatum Warren; brothers in law & sisters in law, Jeff (Jane) Sanders and Sandra (Jerry) Shoemaker and other loving family members.
