Mary K.
Wiltse-Hall
Oct 9, 1947 — Jul 1, 2026
Mary K. Wiltse-Hall, 78, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 1, 2026, surrounded by beloved family members.
Mary was born on October 9, 1947, in the rolling hills of Morgantown, West Virginia, to Charles W. and Sarah K. Boggs. As the oldest of six children, she cherished her family throughout her life. When the family relocated to Clarkston, Michigan, Mary formed a lifelong friendship with Beverly Pike. Though the miles separated them, their bond remained as strong as ever.
Mary was a proud Saturn alumna Local 1853 Member and enjoyed a rewarding career in recruiting and facilitation, where she built lasting friendships with colleagues Mattie Bond and Joe Coe.
Mary was a fierce Scrabble player with her son, Erik, being the only advisory who could outscore her. She had compassion and love for animals and many found a home in her care.
In 2008, Mary received the life-saving gift of a liver transplant, allowing her friends and family to share an additional 18 treasured years with her. She was a passionate advocate for Donate Life and deeply appreciated the generosity of organ donors and their families. The family would also like to recognize her special “liver buddy,” Jim Harrison, whose friendship and support meant so much to her throughout their transplant journeys.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Boggs and Sarah K. Boggs.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Erik T. (Carrie) Wiltse of Spring Hill, Tennessee; Wesley A. (Erin) Wiltse of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee; and Courtney (Johnny) Hudgins of Columbia, Tennessee. She was a devoted grandmother to Jakob (Gia) Ring and Rachel K. Ring, and cherished her bonus grandchildren Martha Thompson, Jena, Macayla, and Micah Hudgins.
She is also survived by her siblings: Charlotte (William) Heiple of Milford, Michigan; Charles M. (Mimi) Boggs of Pulaski, Tennessee; Martha Daniel of Clarkston, Michigan; William (Trishia) Boggs of Huntsville, Alabama; Dora (Ken) Dean of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; and Kathy (Bruce) Driver of Nunley, Tennessee. She also leaves behind 21 beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Mary was blessed with a large circle of treasured friends who enriched her life in countless ways. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to special family friends Jan Lange, Robert Drudge, Betty Grandy, Daphne Lazenby, Nada Kirk, Dave and Sue Gross and her Mahjong gang for their unwavering love, support, prayers, and companionship.
A faithful member of Thompson’s Station United Methodist Church, Mary spoke fondly of Reverend Rose Taylor and found great comfort in her church family.
The family is deeply grateful to the compassionate caregivers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Encompass Health of Franklin for the exceptional care they provided throughout Mary’s journey.
