It is with a broken heart that I let you know Michael Joseph Selle passed away 5:54pm July 2, 2026 after a courageous battle with COPD that unfortunately ended unexpectedly in a car crash. He was born and raised in Pleasanton, Texas on May 4, 1953 to Eugene Proctor Selle and Jimmie Fay Selle (Culwell).

Upon high school graduation, he answered the country’s call to service by enlisting in the U.S. Army September 1970 as an airplane mechanic until his honorable discharge September 1976. After qualifying as a Sharpshooter (rifle), he earned the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon return home, he learned several related trades which provided him opportunities in construction work during the housing boom. When he was not busy with work, he was often found outdoors fishing, hiking and swimming as well as creating, maintaining and improving his properties. His artistic talents extended indoors as well by designing stained glass windows and wall decorations for family and friends.

He was my protector, my marriage partner and my best friend for the sixteen short years I was privileged to know and live with him. He will be forever missed. May God receive him gently into His arms.

Proceeded in death by parents Eugene Proctor Selle and Jimmie Fay Selle (Culwell), grandson Jackson Perry, and brothers Vince Selle and David Brian Selle

Survived by spouse Janet Selle (Moxley), daughter Cassandra Westbrook (Selle), grandchildren Ava Blair and Gabriel Alexander Westbrook, and sisters Debbie Sharp, Rosanne Selle and Monica DeWitt
