Milton Lee Woodside, age 77, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Born at his family home in Williamson County, TN Milton was the youngest of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Annie Lee Roberson Woodside; his brothers, Dan Woodside, James Woodside, Charles Woodside, and Johnny Woodside; and his sister, Mary “Sissy” Lee. Milton was married to his loving wife, Joyce Lynch Woodside, for 44 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, laughter, and home. He was the proud father of Stacy (Jay) Vivrette and Adam Woodside. Of all the titles Milton held throughout his life, his favorite was surely “PopPop.” He loved being PopPop more than anything and absolutely adored his three grandchildren. In his eyes, they truly hung the moon. Each one had a special nickname from PopPop: Emily was his “EmyGayle,” Parker was his “ParkMan,” and Horace was his “Little Man.” His love and pride for them were immeasurable, and being their PopPop brought him some of the greatest joy of his life. Milton knew the meaning of hard work. He owned and operated C & M Heating and Cooling for 50 years, building a small family business with his brother Charles and a reputation through decades of dedication. When he wasn’t working, Milton was happiest at home on the farm. He loved farming, working his cattle, and his tractors. He was a simple man who never needed much to make him happy. He never cared much for traveling and was a true homebody at heart. Home was where he wanted to be, especially when it was filled with the people he loved. Nothing made Milton happier than having his family gathered together to, as he would say, “break bread.” Those times spent around the table, sharing a meal, stories, and laughter were some of the moments he treasured most. Milton will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to put a smile on your face. He always had a funny story or a joke to tell. Sometimes you never knew quite what he was going to say next, but whatever it was, you could almost guarantee it would make you laugh. His personality, quick wit, and the laughter he brought into a room will be deeply missed. Milton is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce Lynch Woodside; his children, Stacy (Jay) Vivrette and Adam Woodside; his grandchildren, Emily (Weston) Polk, James Parker Vivrette, and Horace Clark Woodside; his sister, Jean McElhaney; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and beloved beagle, Daisy. Milton leaves behind a legacy not measured by possessions, but by a life well lived—a business built through 50 years of hard work, a farm he loved, countless stories and laughs, and most importantly, a family who knew just how deeply they were loved. Those who loved him will forever carry his stories, his laughter, and his memory with them. And whenever his family gathers around the table to “break bread,” there will always be a piece of Milton there with them. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Roberson Cemetery, 4956 Ash Hill Road, Spring Hill, TN. Trey Vaughn and Jay Vivrette officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jay Vivrette, Parker Vivrette, Weston Polk, Billy Johnson, Rodney Parker and Gene Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of C & M Heating and Cooling.
