Mrs. Ruby Gossett

Mrs. Ruby Aline Gossett, age 90, of Spring Hill, TN, formerly of Vacaville, CA passed away June 6, 2014 in Nashville, TN. Ruby was a homemaker and also worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell for many years. She was a faithful member of the church of Christ and attended Jackson Heights Church of Christ in Columbia, TN.
Ruby was born in Ada, Oklahoma to the late James Alex Jackson & Hester Walker Jackson. Ruby enjoyed fishing trips with her husband, hiking, exploring, reading and cooking. She was an advocate for animals and her children have happy memories of the many kinds of pets they had growing up. Once you met Ruby, you would always remember her bright smile and sweet disposition.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gossett and eight brothers & sisters. She is survived by sons, Clifford (Cherrel) Thompson of Bakersfield, CA & Larry (Jody) Thompson of Cottage Grove, OR; daughters, Cathy (Al) Mitchell of Spring Hill, TN & Sandy (Terry) Cope of Providence, KY., 14 grandchildren, including Kim (Jason) Johnson of Thompson's Station, TN & Jodi (Jason) Morrissey of Spring Hill, TN, 30 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alive Hospice, St. Thomas West Inpatient Unit, 4220 Harding Rd. Wing 3-B, Nashville, TN 37205 and the SPCA.
