Patricia Mary Sheets age 88 of Franklin Tn, passed away on Saturday September 26, 2026.

A native of Midland Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Agnes Pitt Weidenmier. Preceded in death by her husband Robert Sheets and her sister Margerie Munger. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory: daughter Theresa Page (Michael) and son Grant Leland. Grandchildren Alethea Thompson (Nathan), Mark Benton and Crystal Benton and Great Grandchild Makai Thompson. Niece Leigh Anne Grimes and Nephew Scott Munger.

She was one of the first females to join the United States Air Force. She was selected with six other recruited females to travel Michigan and be poster representatives where their pictures were taken and put on posters displayed in various locations to encourage women coming out of high school to join the WAF (Women in the Air Force). This position was so new that these six women had to wear civilian attire for the first two weeks, while waiting for their uniforms, which consisted of their colorful dresses and high heels. Thus they were called the Rainbow Girls, due to their dresses being different colors as they marched daily through Eglin Air force base where they trained. After the military she became a housewife and loving mother and went on to retire from North American Van Lines in Fort Wayne, IN.

She loved to volunteer her time as Librarian at the Smyrna Senior Citizen Center and love to lead and assist with craft events and adult coloring in her retirement.

Visitation will be Thursday October 1, 2026 beginning at 11:00AM  with funeral services to follow 1:00PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin TN.

Burial with Military Honors will be 9:00AM Friday October 2, 2026 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
