Rachel Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, Mrs. Rachel T., age 87 of Brentwood, TN, passed away July 5, 2013. Born in Aubrey, AR to the late Milton Gatewood & Rachel B. Thomason. In 1946, she married the love of her life, E.W. Fitzgerald & they celebrated 45 years of marriage until his death in 1991. Retired from the Country Music Hall of Fame after 20 years of loyal service. She & her husband enjoyed many years of camping with their good friends in the Music City Winnies, a local Winnebago club. A woman of faith & gentle grace, she found her church home with Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the loving & caring staff of Belvedere Commons in Franklin, TN, her home for the past five years. Survived by: son, Bill (Cindy) Fitzgerald; daughter, Cathy (Forrest) Walsh; her "Texas Sweetie" Nancy (Ken) Doerr; grandchildren, Jon Bizzell, Tony (Amanda) Peden, Lindsey & Holly Fitzgerald; great grandchildren, Adryana, Madison, Isabella & Zoe; step grandchildren, Matt (Tina), Jeff (Michele), Mark & Kyle Walsh; step great grandchildren, Jake, Zac, Drew, Abi, Kayla, Hannah, Ella & Ashlynn. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 PM, July 9, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Carol Cavin-Dillon officiating. Private family interment will be held in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
