Richard “Rick” Lee Miller, age 76, of Thompson’s Station, passed away on August 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Van Nuys, California, to the late Ralph Stanley and Dorothy Jean Bufkin Miller.
Rick was a man of deep kindness, unwavering love, and an adventurous spirit. He found joy in reading, hiking, and backpacking, passions that reflected his love of learning and his appreciation for the beauty of the world around him. He dedicated himself to his work and to educating others, leaving an impact on countless lives through both his professional and personal commitments.
Above all, Rick’s greatest love was for his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Paula Miller; his two sons, Erik Miller (Tukta) and Erin Miller; his daughter, Mary Jane Eichholz (Ray); and grandchildren; brother, Robert Miller (LeAnne); sisters, Karen Miller (Marty) and Rebecca Cushman (Fona), along with a wide circle of friends and loved ones who became like family to him. He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing in life’s joys and challenges with a heart full of compassion and gratitude. His presence, love, and wisdom will be carried in their hearts forever.
To honor Rick in a way that is personal and meaningful, the family invites guests to bring a favorite photograph of him, one that captures a special memory, a smile, or a moment you treasure. Please write your name on the back along with a few words about why the photo is meaningful. These memories will serve as a heartfelt tribute to the many ways Rick touched our lives.
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Rick invites friends and loved ones to join us in celebrating his life and legacy at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Parish Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow.
