Robert Lowell Walter

Robert L. Walter died on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Born and raised in Golconda IL on May 1, 1931. After serving in the Air Force, he earned his Bachelor’s from SIU, Carbondale. Elected President of the final graduating class of Cumberland Univ., in Lebanon, TN where he met his wife Judith Burton, they married in 1961 and spent the majority of their lives in the middle TN area. Retiring in 1993 from 35 years in management at Allstate Insurance, he was active in the TN Republican Party for many years. He was predeceased by his daughter Melissa Anne Walter, and is survived by his wife and daughter, Emily E. Walter.
