Sara Hyatt unexpectedly received her heavenly wings on July 1, 2026, after experiencing a sudden medical event following a year of ongoing health challenges. Born on March 20, 1944, in Columbia, South Carolina, Sara lived a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love.
Sara is survived by her beloved husband and soulmate of 62 years, Larry R. Hyatt. Together, they were devoted members of Brentwood United Methodist Church and had called Brentwood, Tennessee, home for the past 39 years.
She is also survived by her two daughters, Heather H. Beavers of Thompsons Station, TN, and Karla R. Hyatt of Franklin, TN; her cherished grandchildren, Avery Beavers, a student at Tennessee Technological University, and Reese Hyatt-Olsen, a rising senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; along with numerous cousins throughout South Carolina and the Atlanta area.
Sara retired from Bank of America in 2008 after 20 years of dedicated service so she could devote more time to the people who meant the most to her—her grandchildren. They were the true joy of her life. From their earliest years through their college careers, she rarely missed a game, practice, recital, or special event. Even after they left home for college, she remained a constant source of love and encouragement, and every visit home meant gathering at Grandmama's house.
Sara was the heart of her family. Her home was the place where birthdays, holidays, and family celebrations were held, and where everyone felt welcomed and loved. She was the steady foundation her family leaned on, offering unwavering support, kindness, and compassion. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sara's life at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Sara's memory will forever be treasured, and her legacy of love will continue through the family she so faithfully cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
