The matriarch has fallen.
Shirley Alberta Garrett -Blackburn, 87 years young, was born May 4, 1939, in Franklin, Tennessee. Shirley is preceded in death by the loving grandparents who raised her, Alice Cavendar Cartwright and Hiram Cartwright; her parents, Ann Belcher and Morris Garrett; her sister, Alice Loftis; her son, Joe Carver, daughter Sharon Ann Carver; and her one true love, Danny Parsons.
She leaves behind her daughters, Dandida (Brian) Kruse, Candida (Todd) Lappin, Jennifer Greenwood (Kip Culberson), and Shirley Schettino.
Her grandchildren include Ashley Caruso (Chris Jacobs), Jade Trowbridge, Paris Mayuric, Luke Carver, Jacki Carver, Catherine Caliguiri, Candace Schetinno, and Cheyenne Schetinno.
Shirley is also survived by her beloved family in Georgia and Tennessee, and of course, her one evil cat, Bella—who only loved Shirley and made sure everyone knew it.
Funeral service will be held 1:00PM Friday, October 16, 2026 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.
Rest easy, momma. You were one of a kind, and you will be deeply missed.
