Terry Comer died peacefully at home in Franklin, Tennessee. Terry was born to Harriette Comer and William Comer on July 1, 1941. Terry was a lifelong resident of Nashville. Terry attended Litton High School in East Nashville, then moved to Washington DC with his mother and step-father, and graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA. Terry later received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. With the encouragement of his amazing and supportive stepfather, Frank, Terry began the road to his fifty-five-year career in dentistry. Terry was blessed with six children and fifteen grandchildren.
Terry was an extremely gifted artist, a creative, and a loyal caretaker to his dental patients. He found fulfillment in helping people in need and music was a passion where he found connection to others. He enjoyed writing music, strumming his guitar or banjo, leisurely drawing, crafting jewelry, attending music festivals, and taking photos of children and people he admired. Working with his hands brought him joy, and he loved taking time for his work, whether it was designing dental crowns for his patients or refurbishing and repurposing old instruments.
Despite his long fight with kidney disease, Terry found himself content with where the Lord placed him and maintained a spirit of peace until the end of his life.
