William Roy Nigh

It is with deep sadness we announce William “Bill” Roy Nigh, also lovingly known as Billy, Dad, and Poppy, age 65, died Friday, June 6, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place at 3 p.m. on June 22, 2025, at Westhaven Golf Club in Franklin, Tennessee.

Bill was born April 9, 1960, in Wichita Kansas to the late Edison Roy Nigh and Margaret Ann. He attended Texas Tech University where he received his B.S. in Finance and Business Administration in 1982. Bill had a financial career that spanned decades of leadership with Synovus Bank followed by First Farmers & Merchants Bank. Of all his success, his greatest pride and joy were his children, twins, Lauren and Matthew.

Bill Nigh was one of the good guys with a kind heart as big as the golf courses he loved and a willingness to lend a hand wherever he was needed. Bill will be forever missed. But his words “it’s all good” linger in the air.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Anne; daughter Lauren (Chris) Ford of Huntsville, AL; son Matthew (Rachel) Nigh of Salem, OR; mother Ann McQuade of Tucson, AZ; brother David Nigh of Denver, CO; sister Julie (Michael) Cloutman of Taos, NM; grandchildren Curtis Patterson, Kiley Patterson, Hannah Kate Ford, Gabriella Ford and Kenneth Nigh; stepmother Dana Homonek of Berkeley Lake, GA, and nieces and nephews. Bill was beloved by Liz’s extended family including many cousins, Uncle Jim, nieces and nephews; his many colleagues and golfing buddies over the decades; as well as the Cavalier Rescue USA community of middle Tennessee. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenneth F. McQuade.
